I haven't fully chosen a career yet, but I'm really interested in mechanical engineering and the auto body industry. My love for cars and mechanics comes from my dad, a skilled mechanic who inspired me from a young age. I grew up listening to tools and engines while he worked on different vehicles. One memorable moment that influenced my interest was when I watched him take apart a V8 engine. He described each part and how it worked, which made me excited about mechanics and engineering.
To pursue my goals, I’m enrolled in the Atex program, which focuses on mechanical engineering and auto body repair. The program offers hands-on experiences alongside theoretical learning, which is great for preparing me for real-world challenges. Even though the school year just started, I’m eager to dive into the material and develop the skills I'll need in both fields. I believe Atex will give me practical knowledge and critical thinking skills crucial for success in engineering.
Outside of my studies, I've played soccer, which taught me the importance of teamwork and communication. Through this experience, I developed discipline and perseverance, both of which are essential in engineering and mechanics. I've also spent weekends and summers with my dad on car projects. We've repaired engines, restored old cars, and even built a go-kart. These activities improved my mechanical skills and deepened my love for engineering, showing me the value of patience and attention to detail.
Looking ahead, I plan to go to community college after graduation to save money while getting a good education. I will actively apply for scholarships to help cover costs, although I’m not sure how long I’ll need to study to land my dream job in mechanical engineering or the auto body field. I've decided against trade school, as I want to pursue a college degree for better long-term career opportunities. After gaining knowledge and skills, I hope to get an apprenticeship, which will help me advance in a company and eventually lead projects and teams.
I want to make a positive impact in my community by using my skills to help with car repairs and other mechanical services. Fixing vehicles not only helps individuals but also enhances safety and efficiency in society. I aim to build trust in my community and show the importance of safe transportation. As I grow in my career, I want to stay updated on industry trends, especially sustainable practices and new technologies.
Finally, I'm passionate about inspiring future generations to appreciate engineering and mechanics. I hope to mentor young people, encouraging them to explore opportunities in automotive engineering and mechanics.
