I have a blocking problem to customize my ringtone. As soon as the "Sounds" application opens and I select a category, for example "Pixel sounds" it crashes. It's impossible to change any ringtone because of the app is crashing everytime.

I have the same text tone since I coincidentally just two days ago decided to finally sit down and try to create my own F-18 ringtones. I ended up making a whole pack of them and so I'm going to share them here. There will be two links; one for m4r(iTunes) and one for mp3. I should give credit to YouTube user Recep Yunce, as I used his "F-18 Voice Warning System Sounds" video to source the audio. I wouldn't have the first clue as to how to pull the audio from the actual DCS files. I found them, but they are just code files.

So ive looked everywhere. Currenly i have the lulaby ringtone for find my phone. This is different than the last GW watch I had and sounds silly. Ive tried to change the phones itselfs ringtones and in the find my phone app but nothing seems to work. Any ideas? Its driving my crazy and I use it all the time.

I just checked on my iPhone and Cricket ringtone is alive and well in Classics in my phone on iOS 17.0.3. Are you trying to set it for your phone ringtone or are you trying to use it as a text tone? It is no longer there for text tones. Whether it will be returned (there are issues with text tones in iOS 17) you'll need to wait for an update, which may address this.

Crickets were gone before IOS 17. The cricket ringtone quit working on my phone 7Plus back in summer of 2024. Upgraded to 15 Plus and cricket was present but still not working. Trying to fix it was useless. The minute I tried to switch to another ringtone, cricket selection disappeared.

Venu 2 Plus. Before update to 9.17, when a call incoming, ringtone from phone was played on watch speaker. At the same time, vibration was constantly working. It is very comfortable. After update, an incoming call triggers one short peak and one vibro, as with a notification of a new message. I'm missing calls now. How to return everything back? Tried to change setting "System -> Sounds -> Ringtone", it does not help.

The volume in all watch settings is set to maximum. I did not change the settings, the ringtone stopped playing after updating to version 9.17. Maybe there is a possibility to rollback to the previous firmware?

Im having the same problem too, no ring tone on watch only vibration when the phone ring is on. If I turn phone to mute the watch gets the ringtone. Im sure it used to be on both at the same time. Samsung phone running android 12 and One UI4.1.

I bought a Ring Doorbell 2 that came with a regular chime (not pro) in April of 2019 and as of last week I have not been able to change the ring or motion sounds. When I try Changing the sound It says Sorry Something went Wrong. I am not sure what is wrong with it. I have tried resetting it but that did not help; I even called Ring Customer Support and she could not figure it out. It does make a sound if the doorbell is rang or if motion is detected.

I'm using RingtoneManager, and apparently on some phones it returns null all of the time. I know it returns null if the sound is silent or it cant find the tone. Why would null be returned if the sound is on and there is a tone? The code works on my nexus s....

Earlier this year, I started getting audible notifications that my Google-voice activated phone (via Sprint) was receiving a call. Most of the time I get the notification before the phone actually rings. The ringtone is a bit annoying. Well, my wife has the same setup and somehow she has a different (less annoying) ringtone, so I'm wondering if Google just randomly picks something or what? We both have Google Apps accounts, so there's no difference there. Any ideas?

I regularly have Opera, Firefox, and Chrome running at the same time, but I have checked extensions to verify that no Skype holdout extensions exist. I have combed the registry and the sound setting to eliminate any notification using the incoming skype ringtone sound. No help yet.

You could make a new email just for these messages and use one of many free email programs for your phone. And set that message sound for new email to that adress to a suitable time sound for your needs.

@Roberta830 I have never heard of the AirBnB ringtone. Is this the sound that your phone emits when you receive an SMS message? If you have a smart phone, you should be able to download a new ringtone or select a different one and set the volume.

Suddenly, incoming callers do not hear a ringtone on their end anymore. Nevertheless, calls can be completed without further issues - just the calling party has the impression that nothing happes during the silence until we do pick up. Generally, my setup is working for years without such issues.

Does anyone have any further hints on how that may come about? I did try other nat settings but with no success, i.e., my ringtone packets to seem to get dropped in the critical case regardless of what I did so far.

In my examples, the call is never completed, just ringing and than hanging up. In all scenarios, completing the call does work without any issues whatsoever. The problem is just, that the calling party may not hear a ringtone presumably after a recent modification on the side of the carrier.

(Because i dont like to miss calls, and vibrating is a nice deal between nothing and beeping)

On samsung devices you have since years different volume bars for that and i thought it would be a general android feature.

( its something you cant do on iOS at all)

I don't know when this issue started because I usually have it on vibrate/silent, but last night I put my phone on normal mode with the ringer set to 100% and yet when someone called me at 3am because they were in a car accident I couldn't hear it. They called me 10 times but my phone barely made a whisper. I can hear the ringtone but it sounds like its at 5% not 100%. It doesn't matter if I set it to 90 or 100, but the ringtone is very quiet.

@freeman93: I'm sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue. Please try heading to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Volume, and make sure that the Ringtone slider is at a suitable level. Now, head to the Phone app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Call alert and ringtone > Vibrate while ringing > On. The vibration against a flat surface can be quite loud, and can help to alert you to any incoming calls if you're asleep.

I installed some custom notifications sounds on my BLU Advance 5.5 running Android 6.0 a few months ago and they've worked fine for a really long time until when recently all my notification sounds went back to default, so I try to change back to any of the old custom sounds that I'd been using, but they won't show up in the options. My custom ringtone sounds didn't change and still work fine, but my notification sounds just won't show up.

The fix for me was to rename the custom sound files (the .mp3s) and make sure they started with Capital letters. Seems crazy I know, but the one thing I noticed that was different about my custom files and the stock ones was that mine weren't capitalized. As soon as I changed that, they all showed up and I was able to select them. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A51.

Note that it doesn't matter where in the system your Notifications or Ringtones folders are stored, Android will still find them. Notifications in /media/notifications will be found, and so will sound files in /Music/Notifications. You can also have more than one Notifications or Ringtones folders.

I know that lower frequency sounds travel further. But if it's too low, the speaker won't be able to produce it well or it won't register on my hearing. It can't be simply very loud, lest it would peak and get distorted and possibly ruin the speaker.

idk about other phones, but iPhone ringtones tend to peak at I think -10dB, so you can push a little bit on the volume without damage, but as you rightly point out, peaking near zero just goes quickly into distortion; doesn't sound good & actually doesn't feel as loud from a distance.

Alternatively - & this is what I use for my partner's ringtone - the telephone ring from the Keifer Sutherland show, 24, the one in their office at CTU. It changed each season but the early ones were the most distinctive. Fox used to have them freely available on their website, though I don't see them any more - but a quick Google tells me you can still pick up one or more versions for free.

Music, snippets from songs etc., don't work well - they just seem to blend into the background too easily, especially if you've got the radio or tv on.

The only exception is if the music is very sparse. I use the opening 2 chords from The Clash, London Calling, for one of my ringtones & I can always hear that round the house where other tunes don't work - though I have been known to come dashing up to my work room to discover ...it was the radio. 006ab0faaa
