Serving the community is the primary function of the Covington Rotary Club. During the 2019-20 year, we have:

July-September 2019

  • Continued monthly clean-ups at Shelton Park, July-October 2019

  • Participated in the Red Sand Project for Human Trafficking Awareness and attended the Tipton County Baby Shower, both of which promote maternal and child health; August 2019

  • Partnered with Hamilton-Ryker to start the Dress for Success initiative (launch is TBD), September 2019

October-December 2019

  • Provided gift bags and trimmings to the Boys & Girls Club of the Hatchie River Regions for club members' Christmas gifts, November 2019

  • Attended the Comcast Digital Access Forum in support of the program and secretary Lauren Fletcher, who was a panelist, and promoted the Dress for Success program at the Comcast Work at Home Career Fair, November 2019

  • Collected classroom supplies to help restock classrooms at Covington Integrated Arts Academy and Crestview Elementary, December 2019 - January 2020

January - March 2020

  • Hosted the second annual Super Soup Bowls fundraiser to support our basic education and literacy mission, January 2020

  • Planned to host Covington Obstacle Course Race in June; postponed until Fall 2020

  • Approved the construction and installation of a Little Free Library in Shelton Park

April-June 2020

  • Launched the Reading with Rotary program, April 2020

  • Launched a new website and social media channels to promote our service projects, club and public image, April 2020
