Make a copy of the See, Think, Wonder document
Look at the pictures in the photo essay, "Hungry Planet: What the World Eats" three times. Each time you look at the pictures, you're going to record different notes:
First, record what you see in the pictures. These are observations - what do you notice?
Then, record what you think about the pictures. What are some connections that you can make? What are some conclusions that you're drawing?
Finally, record what you wonder. What questions do you have about the people, what they eat, where they're from, etc.?
Make a copy of the Need to Know chart
Read this information about the project:
This is the Driving Question that you will answer for this project: How can we, as photojournalists, tell stories of our family experience during this period of social distancing?
You will create photo essays that will tell the story of your family experience during this time. These photo essays will be presented to the community, and will eventually serve as primary sources for historians.
Fill out the Need to Know document. Put things you already know about photos, stories, and the social distancing experience on the left side. Write down anything you don't know yet on the right. It's okay if you don't know much yet - we're going to learn about photo essay, journalism, story telling, and more!
