My colleagues and I will contribute on a regular basis on what we are doing individually and together as we try to take this great City forward – making the most of opportunities available to us but also being honest about the contstraints that we also have to live with in the form of austerity.

On the 4th May the West Midlands Combined Authority will have its first metro mayor. Much of our spare time will be spent supporting the Labour Candidate Sion Simon.

The Combined Authority offers much to Coventry. £98.8 million has been made available to enable us to take forward City Centre South development and a further £50 million to progress Friargate. This is important for the City in terms of jobs but also because it could yield in the region of £22 million to the Council in business rates which will help us to provide the services the people of Coventry need.
