The Varen VR Study is being conducted to explore biological markers of nicotine craving during a virtual reality (VR) experience in adults (22+) who smoke cigarettes daily. We are also testing to see if varenicline, an FDA approved medication for smoking cessation, affects these markers during the VR experience. Eligible participants will take the study medication (varenicline or placebo) for 17 days. This research study is sponsored by University of California, San Diego.
