Welcome to our website! 2022 was a great year for us. We played some great venues and even got to play at Love Supreme Jazz Festival!

It's been a real treat to branch out from Joni Mitchell songs and to include songs by Carole King and Rickie Lee Jones in our recent gigs. At Love Supreme we were more faithful to our origins and celebrated some of our (and hopefully YOUR) favourite Joni songs with our own jazz-tinged interpretations. We hope you enjoy the videos below, and the photos both here and on our social media platforms.

COURT AND SPARK is a project conceived by Lucy Pickering, to reinterpret and perform some of Joni Mitchell’s finest songs from the 1970’s to 1990’s – the era that saw album releases such as Court & Spark, Hejira and Taming The Tiger. This was the era when Joni Mitchell began to look beyond her folk roots, and worked with Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius and Wayne Shorter. Some of her greatest songs come from these fruitful creative partnerships, and many of them make a great starting point for exploration and development; something which we are delighted to be able to share and perform.
