For most professions, on the job training is more valuable than being in a classroom. A content-rich curriculum reduces the time spent in a classroom by half, which means that students can graduate in half the time.
An Associate's degree takes 1 year
A Bachelor's degree takes 2 years
A Master's degree takes 3 years
An Associate's Degree (1 year) is the core program (15 core programs). Specialization in the first year is through elective courses.
A Bachelor's Degree (2 years) requires an associate degree from the core program. The next year is the advanced core program, or a specialization program in the same Department.
A Master's Degree (3 years) requires a bachelor's degree, plus an additional specialization year. It can be a master's degree in the specialization (2 specialization years) or a master's degree in the core program (1 specialization year).
For example, a Master's in Architecture requires a bachelor's degree in architecture, plus a 1-year specialization program (planning, interior design, landscape architecture, construction, real estate, etc.) The specialization year could be outside the department for select programs like engineering or graphic design.
