Additional Resources

The resources presented on this page are supplemental and not directly linked to the course mapping workflows presented in this companion kit. These may prove useful for understanding instructor needs before searching, conducting assessments and research related to OER adoptions, and tools for sharing content. These resources are expected to supplement and enhance course mapping efforts.

OER Reference Interviews

The three videos and worksheets below are meant to assist with OER faculty reference interviews.

Searching for OER: Video 1

The worksheet is intended to be completed by the instructor before the consultation. It collects information on Course Objectives and Topics Covered. Topics can be used as keywords in searches.

Searching for OER: Video 2

This worksheet is prepared by the librarian before the consultation. During the consultation, the librarian and instructor work together to fill it out.

Searching for OER: Video 3

This worksheet is an example of what a completed sheet will look like following the deep search.

The purpose of this template is to assist with organizing and sharing curated OER and affordable resources with instructors.

The purpose of this guidebook is to provide ideas for how individual faculty members and those who support them (e.g., librarians, instructional designers, etc.) can research the effect of their adoption of open educational resources (OER).
