CouponVault ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
## 1. Information Collection and Data Storage
* **Local Storage:** All your saved coupons, personal notes, and captured screenshots are stored locally on your device using encrypted SQLite databases.
* **Cloud Synchronization:** If you create an account, textual coupon metadata is securely transmitted via HTTPS to our cloud servers (hosted via MongoDB Atlas) to enable cross-device synchronization. **We do not upload your image files/screenshots to our servers.**
## 2. Permissions & Device Features
* **Camera & Photo Library:** Used strictly for importing coupon images to extract voucher details.
* **App Detection (UsageStatsManager):** CouponVault requests the `PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS` permission to detect when shopping apps (like Swiggy or Zomato) are in the foreground. This allows us to instantly suggest your saved coupons. **We do not record your screen, read private messages, or track activity within third-party apps.**
* **Notifications:** Used to remind you of upcoming coupon expiration dates.
## 3. Third-Party AI & Processing
We use Google Gemini APIs for intelligent coupon parsing. Extracted text from your screenshots is sent to Google for real-time processing. This data is not retained by Google or used for AI model training.
## 4. Data Sharing & Advertising
**We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.** We do not display third-party advertisements within the app.
## 5. Children's Privacy
CouponVault is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
## 6. Account Deletion & Data Retention
In compliance with Google Play Store policies, CouponVault provides a clear pathway for users to request the permanent removal of their data.
### How to Request Deletion
If you have created an account and wish to delete it, you can request the deletion of your account and all associated cloud-synchronized data at any time by emailing us at:

Please send the email from your registered email address or include the specific credentials associated with your account so we can verify your identity.
### What Happens to Your Data?
* **Immediate Deletion:** Upon receiving and verifying your request, we will permanently delete your account profile and all cloud-synchronized textual coupon metadata from our MongoDB Atlas servers within 7 business days.
* **Local Data:** Any data stored locally on your device (including your saved coupons, personal notes, and captured screenshots in your encrypted SQLite database) will remain on your phone until you manually clear the app cache or uninstall the CouponVault application.
* **Data Retention:** We do not retain any of your coupon data or personal information after account deletion. Minimal diagnostic logs or support correspondence may be retained for a maximum of 30 days strictly for security purposes, after which they are automatically purged.
