I had the huge privilege of working closely with families and children for 18 years and during this time I became fascinated by family and couple dynamics. I saw first hand how couple conflict affected children, how parenting deeply affected partnerships and how individual difficulties could influence the whole family system. In 2019 I started on the long journey of learning about the theory behind all I had experienced and witnessed, and I qualified as a Systemic Psychotherapist in 2024.
As a British woman who married into a Mediterranean family at a young age, and having worked in an international environment for more than two decades, I take a special interest in exploring cultural differences in couples and families.
My training and work practice reflect my bi-cultural experience: I did my foundational training with the NHS in the UK, and my qualifying years as a psychotherapist at the Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona. I now have my own private practice based in central Barcelona specialising in couples psychotherapy, supported by a private supervisor in the UK and peer-peer supervision group in Barcelona.
I am listed on the RNP, the National Register of Psychotherapists, which means I am fully licensed to work in Spain, and am accredited by the FEATF, the Spanish Federation of Family Therapists.
In my practice, I warmly embrace diversities and differences of culture, age, social class, disability, religion, gender, sexual orientation, life experience and family background.
