🗺️ How to Play

Here are the straightforward rules to master Countyle:

1. The Goal and Limits

Your mission is to correctly guess the hidden Mystery County in the fewest tries possible. You are limited to 6 total guesses per game.

2. Making a Guess

Simply select your county guess from the dropdown list and click the Guess It! button. Your guess will appear on the map, and a new entry will be added to the history below the map, providing your clues.

3. Analyzing Your Clues

Each entry in your Guess History provides two main pieces of geographic information about the relationship between your guess and the true Mystery County:

• Distance (in km): This number tells you exactly how far, in kilometers, the center of your guessed county is from the center of the target county.

• Direction (Arrow): The arrow (e.g., ↗ for Northeast, ← for West) indicates the precise direction you must travel from your guess to reach the correct county.

The color of the entry (green, yellow, or red) also gives you an instant visual indicator of your proximity to the target.

4. Game Outcome

The game concludes immediately when one of two things happens:

• Win: You guess the correct county. If you are logged in, your current streak is increased.

• Loss: You run out of your 6 available guesses. If you lose, your current streak is reset to zero on the server.
