Count It (“the App”) is provided by Vaibhav Lakhera (“we”, “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Count It on Android or iOS.
Count It lets you create countdowns, countups, milestones, categories and related settings.
This content, including names, dates, times, notes and categories, is stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud backup, the App also uploads supported content to your Google Drive account on Android or your iCloud account on iOS, as described in Section 5. We do not upload this content to servers operated by us.
Widgets may access selected countdown or countup information through storage shared between the App and its widget extension on your device.
Depending on the platform and App version, Count It uses the following Google Firebase services:
Firebase Analytics may collect information such as:
App interactions and features used
Session and engagement information
App version
Device type and operating system
Approximate location derived from information such as an IP address
App-instance or installation identifiers
We use this information to understand App usage and improve features and performance. We do not send countdown names, countup names, dates, notes or other user-created content to Firebase Analytics.
Firebase Crashlytics may collect:
Crash logs and stack traces
App version
Device model and operating system
Device state at the time of a crash
Installation identifiers
Diagnostic and technical information
We use this information to identify crashes, diagnose problems and improve App reliability.
Firebase services may process information on Google infrastructure in different countries. Their processing is governed by Google’s applicable terms and policies:
Count It does not require a Count It account or registration. Optional cloud backup requires a Google account on Android or an iCloud account on iOS. When you connect cloud backup, the App accesses and stores limited account information on your device to identify the connected account and operate the feature. On Android, this may include your Google account identifier, email address and display name. On iOS, the App uses an app-specific iCloud account identifier. Count It does not receive your Google or Apple account password. We do not ask for your postal address or phone number.
The App does not contain third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for cross-app advertising tracking.
Count It may request access to certain device features:
Notification permission is used to alert you when a countdown completes or a countup milestone is reached.
On supported Android devices, alarm-related permissions may be used to deliver alerts at the scheduled time.
If you enable biometric lock, authentication is performed by your device’s operating system. Count It does not receive or store your fingerprint, face scan or other biometric data. The App only receives the result of the authentication attempt.
Internet access is used for analytics, crash reporting, communication with the relevant app store for purchases, and optional cloud backup, restore and synchronization.
For manual backup and restore, you choose where to save or retrieve a backup file through the system file picker.
If you enable cloud backup, the App accesses its own hidden application-data folder in Google Drive on Android or its private CloudKit database in your iCloud account on iOS. This cloud access does not require you to select each backup through the file picker. The Google Drive permission used by the App does not grant access to unrelated files in your Drive.
Backup data may include your countdowns, countups, names, dates, times, notes, categories, reset history, milestones and related information.
Manual Backups
Manual backup files exported by the App are protected with a password you choose. You are responsible for keeping these files secure, remembering your backup password and selecting a trusted storage location. We do not receive your backup password or copies of your exported backups on our servers, and we cannot recover a forgotten backup password.
Optional Cloud Backup and Synchronization
If you enable cloud backup, the App stores backup data in your Google Drive account on Android or your private iCloud database on iOS. While enabled, the App can automatically upload and retrieve data while it is open to back up and synchronize supported content between devices using the same cloud account and service.
The App may also retain a recovery copy of an earlier cloud backup when replacing existing cloud data.
Cloud backups do not use the password protection applied to manual exports. Count It does not add its own password-based encryption to cloud backups; they rely on the cloud provider’s security and account-access protections.
Backup data is transferred directly between the App and the selected provider, without passing through servers operated by us. Google and Apple process this information under their applicable terms and privacy policies:
You can turn off cloud backup in the App. Turning it off stops this device’s cloud backup and synchronization but does not delete existing cloud backups or local content.
Sharing
When you use a sharing feature, content is passed to the system sharing interface. The destination service or app you select handles that content under its own privacy policy.
Count It may offer a Premium in-app purchase. Purchases are processed by:
Google Play on Android
Apple App Store on iOS
We do not collect or store your payment card or billing details. Google or Apple may provide the App with limited purchase information required to verify your entitlement and restore purchases.

User-created content is stored on your device and, if you enable cloud backup, in your connected cloud account. Local content may change when you edit or delete items, restore a backup or synchronize with cloud data.
You can delete individual countdowns and countups from within the App. While cloud backup is enabled, deletions may be reflected in the current cloud backup after synchronization. Previously exported backups and any retained cloud recovery copy may still contain earlier content.
Uninstalling the App generally removes locally stored App data, subject to your operating system’s backup and restoration behaviour. Uninstalling the App or turning off cloud backup does not itself delete backups stored in your cloud account.
Manual backup files must be deleted separately from their storage location. Cloud backup data must be managed or deleted separately using the relevant Google Drive or iCloud storage controls. Other connected devices may upload data again if cloud backup remains enabled on them.

We use reasonable technical measures intended to protect information handled by the App. However, no device, storage method or electronic transmission is completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, backup files and backup passwords.
Count It is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly request personal information directly from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us so we can review the matter.
Analytics and diagnostic information, and cloud backup data if you enable that feature, may be processed in countries other than the country where you live, including locations where Google, Apple or their service providers operate, subject to their applicable privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, applicable laws or third-party services change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
