ZAP – The purpose of ZAP is to provide motivation to students who have not been successful on assignments or assessments. ZAP is not designed as a punishment for students, but as a second chance to succeed. It is also designed to allow parents to become more involved in their child’s educational quest. Students are responsible for requesting ZAP referrals from teachers. The completed ZAP referral, inclusive of parent/guardian’s signature, must be submitted to the referring teacher the Wednesday prior to the scheduled ZAP session. ZAP sessions are held two Saturday per grading period from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Cafeteria. Students will enter the Tiger Den via the teacher’s parking lot on Whitehaven Lane from 8:45 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.; any students who arrives after 9:00 a.m. will not be admitted. Student MUST dress in school uniform attire. No Exceptions will be made.
Tiger Tutorial Time – T.T.T.(T3) - The purpose of Tiger Tutorial Time is to afford additional opportunities to complete assignments, obtain content knowledge, and increase academic achievement to students who have earned a grade of 59 or below in English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, World Languages, and Personal Finance during the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd nine weeks. Students who attend T.T.T will have an opportunity to receive a grade up to 60 percent. T.T.T. will take place weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm unless otherwise notified.
Academic Tutoring – After school tutoring is available weekly to all students on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Our school- wide tutoring list is located in the Whitehaven High Main Office. Contact your child’s teacher for additional information.
TN Ready End of Course Tutoring – The purpose of TN Ready EOC tutoring is to provide additional assistance for students enrolled in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, English I, English II, Biology, and US History. Sessions are held weekly after school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Contact your child’s instructor for additional information.
Homework Center – The purpose of the Homework Center is to promote literacy information, provide accessibility of both print and electronic resources, encourage and support students in their efforts to complete their scholastic assignments, and help students become competent problem solvers and critical thinkers. The Homework Center is a drop-in homework/literacy assistance program for Whitehaven High School students. No registration is required. Weekly hours of operation- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 2:45 pm – 4:00pm.

POSTSECONDARY PLANNING
High school students must complete 22 credits to graduate. They also will be tested in core subject areas with End of Course exams, part of the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program, or TCAP. Their performance on these exams will factor into their semester grade for the course.
To receive a regular high school diploma, all students enrolled in a Tennessee public school during their eleventh (11th) grade year must take either the ACT or SAT. CLICK HERE
Early postsecondary opportunities (EPSOs) include a course and/or exam that give students a chance to obtain postsecondary credit while still in high school. Whitehaven High School offers a vast catalogue of EPSO courses. It is suggested that students take the ACT early in preparation to meet the criteria of certain EPSO courses. CLICK HERE
