Insurance Accepted: Out of Network, Accepted Cash and Credit Card
Why don't I accept Insurance?
Conflict of interest. My concern is the client's well being, what is best for the client, not what the insurance companies want/decide for the client.
Insurance companies want to reduce costs and raise profits, not to increase the quality of care and quality of life of the client.
Insurance companies want short-term therapy which may not be what is good for the client. The quality of care is compromised and the client's needs are not met.
Client should access a full range of mental health professionals who provide the best individualized care.
Confidentiality. There will be no sharing of information with the insurance companies.
Some insurance companies just want clients to use medication and no therapy because they want to save money rather than what's best for the client. Research shows that medication and psychotherapy work well in conjunction of each other.
Insurance companies require a diagnosis for treatment. It needs to be medically necessary for them to pay. This is not solution-focused on the needs of the client.
I'll work with clients on prevention exploration and personal growth rather than just survival.
