The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) is a global forum that brings together payments industry stakeholders to develop and drive adoption of data security standards and resources for safe payments worldwide.

Data Engineering & Infrastructure focuses on modern data engineering workflows, storage systems, design patterns and more. Themes in this track are centered around the most important pieces of the data pipeline workflow: data-ops, data quality, ingest & ETL/ELT, monitoring, metadata and other issues pertaining to the modern data stack.

The Data Science & Algorithms track is focused on helping data science professionals be more effective in their role. We discuss helpful algorithms, modern research and data science frameworks & methodologies that can be useful in data science functions across the enterprise.

This track looks at various tooling used to build real time applications and the underlying data infrastructure that supports the movement of data to computation. Examples of talks include case studies on how applications use messaging systems, how applications maintain consistency and correctness while ingesting large amounts of data, and computational frameworks for processing streaming data with low latency.

The Lightning Talks track is composed of 15min, bite-size sessions from various startups sharing lessons learned & best practices of their fast-growing companies. You can learn about new tools & approaches that startups use, cutting-edge open source projects, and data teams' lessons learned from supporting their company growth.

The HHS Data Council is the principal internal advisory body to the Secretary on health and human services data policy. The Council coordinates data policy activities in HHS, including the development and implementation of an HHS data strategy. The Council consists of senior level officials and staff designated by their operating and staff division leadership. It is co-chaired by the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation and the Director of the National Center for Health Statistics. The Data Council supports the Data Governance Board by addressing analytic and technical data policy issues and the Chief Data Officer is represented in the Data Council. The council both coordinates data policy issues and conducts research to improve long-term collection and use of HHS Data. The Data Council has a current focus on the implementation of the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2018.

While there are many roles in the Federal Government that relate to data management, Chief Data Officers (CDOs) have emerged to lead organizational development of processes to leverage the power of data. CDOs enable data driven decision-making in a variety of ways, from providing and leveraging centralized agency analytics capacity to creating tools and platforms that enable self-service across their agencies and for the public. CDOs serve in a central leadership position, with visibility into relevant agency operations, and are positioned highly enough to regularly engage with other agency leadership,including the head of the agency.

The CDO Council has a number of high-level working groups and committees, which reflect the interests and activities of the Council. The initial list below is expected to grow as the council develops and will evolve as the needs of the CDO community change.

The HHS Data Council is the principal, senior internal departmental forum for and advisory body to the Secretary on data policy. The Council guides and informs health and human services data policy in HHS, including the development and implementation of an HHS data strategy, data standards, and privacy policy. HHS has taken a number of steps to address key data needs, promote a coordinated HHS wide strategy on data issues, and strengthen the Department's ability to work in collaboration with private sector entities, State and local governments, and other partners.

HHS plays an essential role in creating health and human services data and information for decision-making by supporting strong data collection, analysis and dissemination systems and by collaborating as a partner with other health and human services entities in the public and private sectors on common data interests. In addition, HHS plays a national leadership role in health and human services information policy, including national data standards, privacy policy, and national health information infrastructure issues.

The Highlands Interactive Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI) is a map-based application designed to assist in the development of municipal ERIs. The application can be used to view and export maps and associated narratives describing a wide range of environmental and other resource data for the Highlands Region.

The purpose of the EASI is to allow longitudinal tracking of students from preschool through all levels of the public education system (elementary, middle and high schools, college and graduate school) and into the workforce. To reflect this scope, the EASI is referred to as a P-20W system. This system will collect data from a variety of disparate source systems, including the K-12 system developed by the State Department of Education, the systems in use at the various postsecondary institutions, the State Department of Labor, the National Student Clearinghouse, and others, and will transform that data into a single, coherent structure on which longitudinal reporting and analysis can be performed.

The privacy of all student level data that is collected by the EASI is protected. A list of all data fields (but not the data within the field) collected by the EASI is publicly available. Only student identifiable data that is required by law is shared with the federal government.

In order to advise and make recommendation to the Board on the implementation of the EASI , the council will report to the Board through the Planning, Policy and Governmental Affairs Committee. The scope of responsibilities of the Council will include the following:

The Physics, Instrumentation and Data Sciences Council (PIDSC) is composed of Society members who have an interest in medical physics, nuclear instrumentation, and data analysisand their applications in therapeutic, diagnostic or investigational nuclear medicine.

PIDSC's mission is to promote the dissemination of knowledge and the advancement of medical physics, nuclear instrumentation, and data analysis and their applications for diagnosis and treatment in nuclear medicine to its members and to the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging as a whole. The objectives of the Council to carry out the mission are:

How to Become a Member

Membership in the Physics, Instrumentation and Data Sciences Council is limited to members of the SNMMI. Membership can be attained by indicating the desire to join during the annual renewal of the SNMMI membership or by filing an application with the Secretary of the council.

Payment of Dues

Membership in the PIDSC requires payment of dues in the amount of $15/year. Dues are paid to SNMMI and will be due on October 1st of each year. Join this council

Provides continuing education for professionals in technical areas relating to nuclear medicine and molecular imaging (e.g. advanced instrumentation, data processing, image reconstruction, quantitation, assessment, etc.) through sponsored symposia and continuing education courses. Each year the PIDSC puts on a Categorical Seminar or symposia, and Continuing Education Courses on topics of interest to professionals in medical physics.

Provides expertise in medical physics, instrumentation and data sciences to SNMMI leadership and to groups outside of SNMMI seeking such expertise. The PIDSC has representation in a number of governance groups within SNMMI, including the Committee on Councils and the House of Delegates.

Council membership is voluntary. Society members are eligible for council membership, and can belong to as many councils as they wish. The dues for the Physics, Instrumentation and Data Sciences Council are $15.00. Join this council

In 2007, we announced plans to construct a data center complex in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Then in 2012 and 2015, we announced expansions of our local data center facilities. Over time, we've invested $5 billion and have established a long-term commitment to the region and state.
