Cost Explorer URL Builder ("the extension") is developed by CostLinkerLabs. This policy explains, plainly, what the extension does and does not do with your information.
The extension makes no network requests. It has no server, collects no analytics, and does not transmit any data anywhere. Everything happens locally inside the extension's popup, in your own browser.
Anything you type or paste into a filter, including account IDs, resource ARNs, tags, and service names, is held only in the popup's working memory while it is open. None of it is written to disk. As soon as you close the popup, that information is gone, and the next time you open it, every filter starts empty again.
The one thing the extension does remember is your last-used date range and granularity (for example, "Month to date, Daily"), so it does not reset every time you open it. This single setting is saved using Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local), which stays on your device only. It is never synced to your Google account and never sent anywhere. It holds no account numbers, resource IDs, or cost data, just a date range and a granularity label.
Clicking Copy link copies the generated URL to your clipboard using your browser's normal copy function, and does nothing else. Clicking Open in Cost Explorer opens that URL in a new tab, the same as if you had typed or pasted it into the address bar yourself. At that point you are navigating to AWS's own console, so anything in the link, such as account IDs, is sent to AWS as part of loading that page, exactly as it would be if you built the link by hand. The extension itself is not involved in that request and does not see or store it.
The extension requests a single permission, storage, used only for the date-range and granularity preference described above. It requests no host permissions and does not run in the context of any web page you visit.
The extension does not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties. It has no analytics, advertising, or tracking integrations of any kind.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change too. Since the extension makes no network requests, updates to this policy do not reflect any change in data collection, only in wording or clarity, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
