How Did I Get Started ?

During my university placement year at Xerox Europe, I was asked to join their exciting new social media group. Social media was only just starting to grab the attention of businesses, and it was here I realized this was my passion and I made it my career. I’ve never looked back since! After graduating with a 1st from Bournemouth University, I joined De Vere Hotels, where I completely fell in love with the hospitality industry. I was a social media team of one, so I was kept very busy, and it required lots of self-learning! I developed their social media brand guidelines and successfully managed their brand-level social media accounts. I also worked with each hotel to establish its own on-brand social media presence. I worked at a London-based social media agency before taking the bold decision to set up my own freelance business in 2013.

What Do I Do In My Spare Time?

I live in Ringwood with my fiancé and absolutely love the New Forest National Park, which is right on our doorstep. So, when I’m not crafting a social media strategy or providing one-to-one consultancy support, I enjoy putting on my wellies and exploring the local area. I don’t go anywhere without my camera and it’s my goal this year to brush up on my skills. When I’m at home, I usually have my head in a book or am busy in the garden, where we’re growing lots of fruit and vegetables. I love baking too, so with all the extra cakes and brownies, it’s probably a good thing that I also enjoy running. I’m incredibly proud of completing the 2014 London Marathon for Shelter UK, something which I still can’t believe I did!
