Welcome! I'm Dr. Edson Costa-Filho, Assistant Professor of Water Resources Engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (Rapid City, SD, USA). My research interests focus on cutting-edge modeling approaches in ecohydrology and remote sensing to support sustainable water resources management. Within academia, my scientific and teaching interests encompass a broad range of topics, including environmental fluid mechanics, hydraulics, remote sensing, environmental biophysics, and ecohydrology.
I am committed to advancing the understanding of natural environmental systems and contributing to the better modeling techniques to support sustainable water management across scales. With a robust background in water-related scientific research and a passion for teaching, I strive to make significant contributions to the field of hydrology and remote sensing and to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers to help mitigate the impacts of climate change on global water resources.
