Meet the founder

Hi! I'm Paige, or Knovice Cosplay. Tutorials have helped me so much since I first started my cosplay journey. But after after being inspired by cosplay educators like The Geeky Seamstress, DeLa Doll, Lutavia, (and more!) I decided I wanted to create my own tutorials too. The judges & my own passion for cosplay education lead us to create this contest to hopefully encourage others to try their hand at creating a tutorial, thus making cosplay even more accessible! Together, let's keep making the cosplay community an even more amazing & welcoming space!

DeLa Doll (she/her) is a Florida-based cosplayer with a love of makeup, crafting, and all things DIY! She began cosplaying in 2014, and her first cosplay prop was Marceline from Adventure Time's axe-shaped base: made from a wooden dowel, cardboard, elastic string, and good ol' hot glue and acrylic paint. She enjoys creating cosplay and makeup tutorials to share with others, especially when they involve using affordable, everyday materials! DeLa is also a self-taught 3D modeler and is working on creating downloadable 3D cosplay files for fellow cosplayers with access to 3D printers.

Lutavia Cosplay (they/them) is a nonbinary maker and photographer from Texas. Inspired by scouring the Cosplay.com forums, they dove into cosplay around six years ago, crafting armor builds and sewing fluffy dresses, but they immediately sought to share the tips and failures they learned every step of the way. Now, they teach on everything from 3D print finishing to photoshoot posing, hosts and streams workshops and panels, shares way too many build threads, and assists cosplayers on their own journeys, from material sourcing to figuring out how to sit down in their costume!

A little tutorial for an EDIBLE Ambrosia/Nectar bottle from Hades! I found the little bottles in Michael’s clearance and decided to make a cute prop for a Zagreus shoot, so I whipped up one of these!
