Handmade with Love: A Collection of Our Family's Creations
Welcome to a sacred space where artistry, tradition, and love intertwine. Each piece in this collection carries the hands and hearts of my family, honoring our Cherokee and Choctaw heritage through generations of craftsmanship and storytelling. Indigenous knowledge is woven into every thread, bead, and fiber, honoring the spirits of our ancestors and carrying forward the wisdom they left for us.
Dreamcatchers have long been used as sacred objects of protection, filtering out negative energy and allowing only good dreams to pass through. Every dreamcatcher my mother creates is one of a kind, infused with the beauty of her travels and the blessings of the land. "As I journey across the Earth, I collect feathers, rocks, crystals, stones, and anything beautiful that Mother Earth offers me". These sacred materials are woven with love, protection, and kindness, ensuring that each dreamcatcher brings joy, harmony, and a connection to Native American traditions into your home. Each loop, web, and feather carries the intention of safeguarding the dreams of those who sleep beneath them, a tradition that continues through our hands.
Beadwork is more than adornment—it is a form of storytelling, a way to honor our ancestors and express identity. Each bead is a prayer, a symbol of resilience, and a connection to the land and spirit. Our beadwork is a vibrant expression of our heritage, carrying forward the artistic language passed down through generations. The colors and patterns used are inspired by the natural world and the stories of our people, embedding each earring with a piece of our lineage and strength.
Blankets and shawls are more than just coverings; they are symbols of honor, protection, and warmth. Handmade by my mother, these blankets and shawls wrap you in the embrace of tradition, just as our ancestors wrapped their loved ones in care. Many Indigenous communities use blankets in ceremonies, to honor achievements, and as gifts that signify deep respect and love. Each stitch in these pieces carries the resilience and artistry of our people, offering both comfort and cultural significance.
Basket weaving is one of the oldest Indigenous crafts, an art passed down from our grandmothers and their grandmothers before them. My grandmother’s woven baskets are a testament to the enduring skill and spirit of our ancestors. Baskets have always held more than just physical goods—they have carried food, medicines, and the hopes of our people. These pieces are not just functional; they are a reflection of the connection between our hands, our land, and our history. The intricate patterns speak of survival, adaptation, and reverence for nature’s gifts.
As a direct descendant of three roll numbers from the Trail of Tears, I carry forward the spirit of my ancestors with every piece we offer. Our creations are not just handmade items—they are living expressions of our identity, carrying the stories, prayers, and blessings of those who came before us. Through these works, we pay tribute to their strength, endurance, and wisdom, ensuring that our traditions remain alive and cherished.
I am honored to showcase this collection of artistry woven from my family bloodline. Thank you for supporting Indigenous artisans and for welcoming our heritage into your life. May these sacred pieces bring beauty, protection, and harmony to your journey.
