The COSMA Lab is committed to conducting community-partnered research. We are currently seeking autistic adults, family members, service providers, and other community members to participate in our community-partnered advisory board. This is a paid experience. What is the Autism PACT?
The Autism Participatory Action Community Team (PACT) is a group comprised of researchers from the COSMA Lab, autistic adults, family members, service providers, and other community members who are interested in collaborating on autism-related research. The Autism PACT uses community based participatory research methods, views all members as equal partners, and focuses on the priorities of the local autism community.
What does being a member of the Autism PACT involve?
Involvement in the Autism PACT will vary - sometimes there will be more work and sometimes there will be less. You can expect an average commitment of 2-4 hours per month. This work will occur primarily via email.
We meet once a month in person or via Zoom to discuss research priorities and progress. If involved, you would be expected to attend as many meetings as possible.
Some responsibilities may include:
Ensuring that the research is respectful of and important to the autism community
Active participation in meetings through sharing of insights and advice regarding the research project(s)
Review and edit research materials such as recruitment materials, consent forms, surveys, and interview guides
Assist with interpretation of study findings
Assist with recruitment of research participants
Assist with sharing of research findings
Providing feedback on your involvement in the Autism PACT
Please note that in order to participate you will need access to a computer with reliable internet access and an email account, as regular email communication is required for participation.
What are benefits of participating in the Autism PACT?
In addition to contributing to meaningful autism-related research, you will receive $50 for your participation in each meeting and will be provided co-authorship on all research products, including papers and presentations, for projects you contribute to.
How do I get involved with the Autism PACT?
If you are interested in participating in the Autism PACT, we ask that you complete the application process detailed below. We require an application to ensure that you are informed on the ongoing research efforts and that you are committed to the efforts of the Autism PACT.

Your application will be reviewed by the COSMA lab.
If approved, you will be invited to attend an Autism PACT meeting.
After attendance in the first meeting, you will be contacted by a member of the team and ask to indicate whether being a member of the Autism PACT is a good fit for you.
If you agree to participate, you will be added to the Autism PACT email listserv and our shared research drive.
