There will be four DCWW environment day events taking place in September. Only one of them is close to us and will be held at the Tenby Wastewater Treatment Works on 3rd September.
The aim of the environment days is to provide the local community with an opportunity to ask Dwr Cymru questions directly and provide a deeper understanding of the wastewater treatment process, their investment, how storm overflows work and why they operate, the challenges they face (for e.g. blockages from sewer misuse which can cause flooding and pollution), and how they play our part in helping to look after the environment.
They will hold site tours lasting around 2 hours long from 10am – 12pm and from 1pm – 3pm highlighting the journey from waste leaving homes, to final treated effluent released to nearby waterbodies.
If anyone is interested in going along, please could they RSVP either by using the QR code on the above poster or by filling in the online form here. Similarly, if you have any interested community groups or individuals who would like to go along, please share this with them and ask that they too RSVP to the details above.
The three other locations and dates are:
Parc Y Splott (Carmarthen) WwTW: 10th September
Llanina (New Quay) WwTW: 17th September
Gowerton (Swansea) WwTW: 24th September
Message from Pembrokeshire County Council
We are contacting you to provide details of the Council Tax Premium Consultation 2025, which we would like to share with you and your communities.
Pembrokeshire County Council is carrying out a consultation on the premiums that apply to second and long-term empty homes.
The consultation seeks views on:
Council Tax premiums for second homes for 2026-27
Council Tax premiums for long-term empty homes 2026-27
How any funding raised from the premiums in 2026-27 should be spent
Whether Welsh Government should change the minimum number of days that a property must be let for in order to qualify for Non-Domestic Rate self-catering accommodation tax status
and whether the Council should use its discretion to exempt holiday lets that transfer from NDR to council tax from any premium.
Cllr Alistair Cameron, Council Cabinet Member for Corporate Finance and Efficiencies, said: “We would like to hear from as many members of the public as possible on this issue of Council tax premiums and how they are used.
“Cabinet will consider any changes to Council Tax premiums later this year so it is important that we have all the information available to us to aid decision making.”
How to take part in the consultation:
The consultation can be completed at https://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/have-your-say/council-tax-premium-consultation-2025

3 way traffic lights will be needed at the junction for the installation of footway lighting, 40mph signs and a police enforcement layby. The work is scheduled to take place between 09:30 and 15:30.
August 15th 6:00
The road will be open in both directions with the new permanent traffic signals in place by this time or earlier if possible.
The 40mph speed limit will also remain for the safe operation of the crossing.
Engineers will check the traffic and adjust the timings where required. This will enable the signals to work efficiently.
Early September onwards
There are still some elements of work to be completed but these are small-scale and localised. This will require traffic lights to be re-installed at the junction after the bank holiday in September between 09.30 and 15.00. Further updates will be given closer to the time.
