Cortnie Shupe

Hi! I am an applied microeconomist interested in household finance, labor and public economics.

I work as an Economist in the Office of Research at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). My research focuses on households in financial distress, small dollar loans like Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) and alternative financial services. Previously, I was a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Economic Behavior and Inequality (CEBI) at the University of Copenhagen and I completed my Ph.D. in Economics at the Free University Berlin and the DIW Berlin Graduate Center.

You will find more about my research here and the latest version of my CV here.
