Eight is a carefree young man who lost his parents at a young age. He is very talented in controlling his light magic despite being relatively hot-headed and impulsive, even being one of the first to be officially licensed as a hunter - thus the nickname 'Eight'. He is very friendly and are close friends with the keeper of a popular tavern he frequents at and a local blacksmith. However, on the inside, he avoids getting too close in fear of losing loved ones again; that is until he took a child under his wing.

Kid is a shy and clumsy, yet selfless child with no memory of his past. All he knows is that he needs to hide the fact that he is a user of both light and dark magic, especially dark magic. Struggling to survive on the streets with nothing to his name, he stumbles upon a scuffle involving Eight. Somehow, Eight takes pity on him then decides to train the child and giving him the nickname 'Kid'. However, this happy moment will all come crashing down when they find out the truth behind Kid's powers and the connection between them.
