For me, engineering doesn't stop when I leave the classroom, lab, field, or office. It is a commitment to lifelong learning and expression through ingenuity. I love the life I build with my fiancée, Kacey, and our two cats, Marnie and Juniper. I love challenging myself to learn new skills (experimenting with meals, constructing garden boxes from recycled pallets,  "playing" the bagpipes, recording and producing music, mapping out detailed road trips, fixing my computer every time it breaks) that help me better understand the world. Engineering empowers me to "do," and my goal through teaching is to help empower others to "do" as well by developing an operational understanding of our reality. I like exploring the world on all scales, and I encourage others to do the same and make the most of it.
