Ms. Smith

By Makena Garcia

Ms. Smith, a beloved science teacher at Correia, has been educating children for over fifteen years. Her classroom is safe and fun because they've never even had the need to use a fire extinguisher or the fire blanket. The only fire that is ever in her room is for a science experiment where they light up bubbles. Besides fire, she has also never had the need to use the intercom but on her first day she “accidentally“ pressed because she was curious. Besides what happens in the classroom, Ms. Smith goes to many beautiful places including her favorite vacation spot, Niagara Falls. Growing up in Hawaii, she wanted to be a veterinarian but as she grew older, she realized that blood made her nauseous and she could not stand it. Then, Ms. Smith decided to go to Cal Poly Pomona to have a major in food science with two minors, microbiology and chemistry. Then, fifteen years later, she made another decision that she wanted to teach. Ms. Smith then went to San Diego State University to get her teaching degree. Ever since then, she’s been a wonderful science teacher for all.
