Ms. Russo

By Erika N.

Ms. Russo is one of the newer teachers at Correia Middle School. She is a language teacher, as her classes consist of Spanish and English. She attended the University of California in Santa Barbara. After graduating in Santa Barbara, she then attended the University of California in Irvine where she earned her master's degree and teaching credentials. Reading and writing has always fascinated her. Growing up surrounded by Mexican culture shaped her into who she is today and she stills lives close by her family, as they are from Tijuana and Chula Vista.

Ms. Russo believes many of the problems faced today can be solved by future generations. With the right resources and experiences, she thinks our generations can make an impact. She says, “By teaching, I hope I’m doing my part in making the world a better place to be.” Ms. Russo also thinks that the biggest problem students of today face is the lack of confidence in themselves and academically. She also reminds us that getting things right can take a lot of time and it’s good to work through it.
