Ms. Moreno

By G S.

Ms. Moreno is a counselor at Correia Middle who helps solve issues across our campus. “Be the change you want to see in the world” is a quote by Gandhi that greatly inspires Ms. Moreno into being a better person, whether it be helping students become better, spreading humane awareness for animals, or general dedication to other world-wide issues. Some common problems faced among students are peer issues, which could be friendship-related or just conflict with another student. When resolving issues, Ms. Moreno gives students the opportunity to fix problems by themselves, unless requested that she facilitate the problem-solving. Despite how basic this may seem, she says, you should always be kind to others, and to yourself. You never know what kind of day someone has had, or what kind of life they have led.

Ms. Moreno went to San Diego State University and Chapman University, majoring in psychology, Spanish, and Counselor Education. She grew up in San Francisco and went to high school in Stockton, CA. She is very close to her sister, Amber, despite them being 18 years apart. As a result of this age gap, Ms. Moreno grew up as an only child appreciating the 70s and 80s in San Francisco with her mother. She wishes she could tell her younger self to take more pride in herself, to be more confident, to be herself, and not to worry about what others think. Ms. Moreno enjoys traveling and planning future travels in her off-time. She loves to go anywhere and everywhere; Ms. Moreno plans on going to many different countries in Africa next summer, and she will be visiting family in El Salvador this next break.
