The Super Vacuum

The Super Vacuum

A Short Story By Makena Garcia

In a small village by the forest is a town. One of the townspeople is Anne. Anne was creating a new cleaning device that she planned to name La Vacuumee, because her Grandmas’s name was Vacuumee. It would have the ability to suck up all dust bunnies and other things that need to be picked up off of the floor, or really any surface.

As a side job, Anne studied weather patterns and told the villagers what the weather would be. One day, while Anne was studying the wind, she noticed a change in the direction. Her first thought was that it was just going to be a little chilly, so she headed to her mule to go down to the village to warn the villagers of the breeze.

However, halfway to the village, Anne noticed another switch in the direction of the wind. She thought that was highly unusual so she stoped her mule ride and paid more attention to it. Through the forest trees was a giant, swirling tornado! It was headed for the village.

Anne leaped back to her mule and raced back home. She knew what she had to do. The Vacuumee was not fully functioning yet, but it was her only hope. The tornado was almost to the village when Anne rushed outside of her house, holding La Vacuumee. She directed it towards the tornado.

She prayed that this would work, and turned it on. The tornado began decreasing in size as it came closer to Anne. Anne closed her eyes, for she thought this is the end, but to her surprise, when she reopened her eyes, the tornado was gone. La Vaccumee and Anne had saved the village!

The End.
