As a community chorale that supports music education in the broadest sense, each semester the Chorale Board of Directors invites students from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) to audition for a $500 scholarship to join Chorale.
The student does not have to be a music major. We only ask that they commit to attending rehearsals and concerts just as any member of Chorale does. Scholarship recipients must enroll in the 1-hour MUEN 1143/3143 course to receive these funds. This participation earns the student one credit towards their degree.
We have been fortunate to have some wonderfully talented scholarship singers over the years and invite any TAMU-CC student who is interested to contact our Artistic Director Devin Davis for more information at devin.davis@tamucc.edu.
SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION PROCESS
Students auditioning for the Corpus Christi Chorale Scholarship will sing the selection provided below at a specified date after the first rehearsal of the semester. This date will be determined upon the students' availability. Students will use any backing track they find and may sing the selection in any key suited to their voice (provided two keys are for convenience). Students auditioning will sing for the Artistic Director and two Corpus Christi Chorale Board members.
