Faye Edwardes is a business coach and founder of the Business Confidence Club. She also owns The Woodland Cornwall, a holiday and retreat business, and hosts the Confidence, Happiness and Positivity podcast.
With a previous career in sustainability and environment policy and international standardisation, Faye set up the Business Confidence Club and her popular confidence coaching business to help women make their businesses a massive success by first working on their own self value and worth. Faye realised quickly that this was the key to making a business successful for so many people and has now helped hundreds of women to thrive and realise their dreams.

10.20 am - #IamRemarkable: introduction and self-promotion, workshop led by Sarah Morrin

#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. It will also provide an opportunity to get to know a little more about each other during the session.
Sarah Morrin is a Director at Morvah Consulting, a Cornwall-based consultancy providing Health and Safety and Business Optimization services to clients. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion and has led many coaching programs, including #IamRemarkable, coaching new mums in practice and mentoring young women of the Emirates. Sarah grew up in Cornwall, where she studied before going to university and returning to work as an engineer- including as the youngest and only female site engineer for a time at one company. Since then, for the past 12 years she has also become a Chartered Accountant, providing operational and finance advice through PwC for many global names across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, whilst living and working overseas. Sarah has recently returned to Cornwall with her young family.

11.30 am - Introduction to EFT Therapy, workshop led by June McGuire

June McGuire, an EFT Practitioner, will introduce you to the concept of Emotional Freedom Technique therapy, a relatively new form of intervention counselling, which draws on different areas of alternative medicine. She will explain what it is, how it works and how it could help treat certain mental and physical issues.

Afternoon Session

12 – Lunch & networking

There will be a selection of stalls selling locally made produce– make sure to check them out! The Birdhouse will also be running a live stained glass art demonstration at their stall. There will also be an "inspiration corner" where you can add any words of wisdom to a long scroll that will be posted on the EWOC facebook group afterwards.
Bring along a packed lunch (alternatively there is a small village shop nearby that offers a limited selection).

12.30 pm – Taking Control of Your Mental Health, talk by Ali Scobbie

This event will coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week 2019; our mental health is paramount to our emotional, psychological and overall wellbeing and is now gaining increasing popularity in the media as a subject that should be discussed openly and honestly. For 9 years, Ali Scobbie has been teaching people how to take control of their mental health and thrive in life. Ali will cover how mental health is actually very predictable and easy to manage when you understand the components of it. She will also give some helpful tips.

12.45 pm – Mixed Workshop Session 1:

(A) How to Turn Your Hobbies into a Business, talk led by Mandy-Jayne Gregory

Mandy-Jayne has a keen interest in a wide range of hobbies from jewellery making to 3D printing and has managed to turn her passions into a full-time business. Mandy now works from home, where she makes and sells a range of items including jewellery, personalised gifts (mugs, bags, keyrings, badges, t-shirts) and fused glass and has even converted her caravan into a mobile gift shop.
Mandy will share her own experiences and advice on how to take steps to turn your hobbies and passions into a business with only a small outlay.

(B) Makaton Taster Session, workshop led by Emma Brown

Emma Brown is a big supporter of Cornwall Down’s Syndrome Support Group, which is a charity that offers advice, events and support to Cornish families affected by Down’s Syndrome. By learning some basic Makaton, you gain a useful communication skill that will help when interacting with people who cannot verbally communicate; often this can include some people with Down’s Syndrome.
This is one small step you can take to make the world a better, more inclusive, place! A simple act can have a big impact.

(C) Introduction to mindfulness & meditation, workshop led by Karen Runacres

Even in Cornwall, our lives can get really busy at times, so it is important to take time out when you need it! Meditation can be a good way to relax and tune into your body to become more mindful of your body’s needs and to clear your mind from racing thoughts! Not only this, but it can also have other health benefits when practised regularly including lowering blood pressure and supporting your immune system.
This workshop will provide a brief introduction to meditation with a short meditation session that will be performed from a seated position.
Karen Runacres regularly runs meditation and mindfulness classes and is a qualified Homeopath, spending her time supporting and improving her clients wellbeing through her company, Krysalis Wellbeing.

1 pm – Mixed Workshop Session 2:

(A) Iyengar Yoga workshop led by Allison Craggs

Yoga has been shown to have a plethora of mental and physical health benefits. This workshop will introduce you to Iyengar yoga, a form of Hatha yoga, which focuses on strong postures and breathing techniques. Allison is an iyengar yoga instructor, who runs Ally’s retreat in Newquay, Cornwall. This retreat not only provides accommodation but offers many forms of support to those who need it. Allison has been a social worker for 20 years and more recently trained as a teacher so she has experience in counselling, childcare, bereavement and crisis support, healing and helping others.
For this workshop, it is recommended that you wear loose and flexible clothing and you will need to bring along with you a yoga mat. If you do not have one, we can provide a limited quantity on the day (on a first-come-first-served basis).
Please notify Allison on the day if you have any health issues she needs to be aware of, who will help and guide you to practice yoga in a safe manner.

(B) Dream Mapping Workshop, led by Sarah Hart

Sarah runs her own business, selling products through Forever Living Products, as well as being a as a global business mentor, working internationally to help people to create the life they want, rather than the life they feel they have to put up with. Sarah is trained in dream board making and how to achieve positive mindset and during this workshop, she will show you how to create your own dream board to help you clearly identify and visualise your goals and ambitions.
Please bring along some coloured pens, pencils or crayons if you are taking part in this workshop.

(C) DIY Make-and-takes (self-led workshop)

These craft workshops are self-led and paced, giving you the chance to take a breather and get creative! There will be a few upcycling crafts for you to have a go at, including decorating jam jar lanterns and making origami bin liners, helping us to lessen our environmental impact, by reducing plastic waste!

(D) Nutrition On A Budget – workshop led by blogger and food lover, Rose Osment

Rosie is a busy working mum of two and self-confessed fussy eater who has long since been converted to loving food and making nutritional meals from scratch. She has not only saved a lot of time and money from cooking in this way, but also pays close attention these days to the nutrition we get from our food. Now Rosie runs the A is for Apple project - a project that is about helping to give people the tool kit and confidence to do the same. Check out her blog (details below) for some amazing recipes!
Cooking from scratch and eating healthily doesn’t have to be complicated! During this workshop, Rosie will share with you her tips on nutrition, breaking down the technical jargon, and how to cook on a budget. This workshop will provide an opportunity for women to come together to share their recipes and tips, while working together in a casual environment to cook a delicious pasta dish.

(A) Arabic Dance Taster Session, workshop led by June Bell

We offer you the chance to get active and try arabic dancing, an energetic and fun dance technique. This 30 minute workshop is open to all that want to participate and have a go!
You just need to bring along a scarf!

(B) Introduction to Mobile Photography, workshop led by Claire Pritchard

Claire is a Newquay-based photographer, covering Cornwall and Devon, who offers photography shoots across a range of themes including newborn, children, family, portraits and boudoir! She also regularly runs mobile photography workshops, with each workshop focusing on different themes.
All you need to bring along for this workshop is your smartphone! During this 45 minute workshop, Claire will share her tips and knowledge to show you how you can take good photos using just your mobile.
