Published Poet

2009:

Clive‘ book ‘View Point and Points of View’ was published in February 2009. This was a joint project with his good friend and photographer, Chris Robbins MPAGB AFIAP. This was a full colour, fully illustrated hardcover book.

Clive called this a ‘Phoetry Book’, describing phoetry as a fusion of poetry and photography, this new genre being a symptom of his inventive mind. By way of illustration, the first poem of this book being called ‘The End’ and possibly one of the shortest published poems, his two word poem named ‘Happiless’.

HAPPILESS

Smile

Denial

Unlike a lot of other poetry collections which tend to group different themes together, this book deliberately intermingles humorous, sad, quirky and thought provoking poems, so the reader never knows quite what to expect when they turn the page.

In a BBC article dated February 2009 (now archived)

“Clive's poems have been published in more than 60 different book anthologies. Many people have asked him over the years to produce his own book. But he wanted to do something different, and so 'phoetry' was born…The subject matter is wide and varied, and is by no means limited to Cornwall's borders. Emotions are stretched in all directions, but the Cornish dry-wit, humour and general sense of fun is never far away.”
