Barrister Hassan Dastgir has been practicing as a lawyer. Before starting off with my his own law firm, ‘Quadrant, Advocates & Corporate Consultants’, he worked with such prestigious law firms as Qayyum Law Associates, Babar Awan Law Co. and Ashtar Ali & Co., under the direct supervision of Mr. Malik Muhammad Qayyum (Ex Attorney General of Pakistan, Ex Justice Lahore High Court), Mr. Babar Awan (Ex Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs) and Mr. Ashtar Ausaf Ali (Ex Attorney General of Pakistan, Ex Advocate General Punjab, Ex Prosecutor General Punjab). He has been serving as a Legal Advisor to the French Embassy since 2014. He has a number of publicized cases to his credit which could be googled by entering his name.
From 2015 to 2018, Barrister Hassan Dastgir served as the Principal of the Cornelius Law College, and has been teaching ‘Pakistan Penal Code’.
From 2013 to September 2015, he served as the Head of the Department of Law at the Bahauddin Zakariya University, Lahore Campus, Pakistan. There, he taught ‘Criminal Law’ to the LL.B. students; taught and supervised research relating to the subjects of ‘Criminology’ and ‘Comparative Human Rights’ to the LL.M. students; initiated and supervised research on many topics including ‘abortion in Islamic law’, ‘unborn child as the subject of homicide – comparative study of Islamic law and English common law’; and ‘parentage problems and rights of a surrogate child in Pakistan’.
From 2006 to 2012, Barrister Hassan Dastgir taught ‘Pakistan Penal Code’ at Quaid-e-Azam Law College, Sargodha, as a member of the visiting faculty.
