In collaboration with UCC Students Union, UCC Centre for Co-operative Studies and UCC Co-operative & Community Action Society.
Event Outline:
First Hour: Addressing the Student Accommodation Crisis through Co-operation. Introduction to the Co-operative Housing Model.
10 minute Coffee & Refreshment break.
Second Hour: Q&A Panel Discussion on the creation of a Student Housing Co-operative for Cork City.
Social Afterwards: Gaia.
Cork City has a student accommodation crisis. Every year, students struggle to find a place to live as they try to access third level education. Supply for affordable housing is in short supply, with over-priced luxury accommodation on the rise. Every year, we grow more and more frustrated as access to housing worsens.
Students are now organizing through the Co-operative Model in the hopes of creating a fairer accommodation offer for the students of Cork City.
