Corey Gillum - Painted Tree History

Painted Tree started in 2015 in Bryant, AR., a suburb of Little Rock. Owners Corey Gillum and Mike Cavallo envisioned an upscale market where local entrepreneurs could sell their goods. The concept allowed multiple small businesses to come together under one roof, typically around 200 vendors per location, and benefit from lower costs and combined marketing efforts to create one dynamic location for all.

In 2016, after successfully filling the original location with vendors, each paying monthly rent plus commission for their space, the concept was expanded to the Dallas / Fort Worth market. The two original DFW locations were also a success and remain top stores in the current

Painted Tree network.

After then opening in Memphis, TN. The owners decided to make Little Rock, AR., the headquarters and began to ramp up staff for fast growth. By 2019, Painted Tree had grown to nine locations spread over Arkansas, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. As of February 2022, there are twenty three locations open, and the original vision remains the same. With growth, Painted Tree has added several key concepts to strengthen the overall business. These include the VIP vendor concept, where vendors who are in three or more locations receive a 10% discount on rent and invitations to special events hosted by Painted Tree. This has allowed new stores to benefit from a large number of repeat vendors who take space before made available to new potential local vendors. Other additions with growth include a middle level of management, a full in-house marketing department, as well as a streamlined online website which now allows new vendors to reserve space.

With current home office staffing and a successful history of opening new locations. Painted Tree is uniquely set up to accelerate rapid growth. The realistic objective is to start twenty new locations in 2022, with the five year plan to include 200 new locations spread across the United States.
