Founded in the early 1910s by the British military service, C.O.R.E. was originally established to support logistical efforts during World War I through the rapid development and deployment of specialized locomotives and freight rail systems. Its strategic importance grew during World War II, where it played a vital role in military transport and engineering innovation.
Following the end of WWII, C.O.R.E. was officially disbanded as part of post-war restructuring. However, decades later, the company saw a rebirth when its current founder and CEO, inspired by its legacy, sought out and rehired many of the original engineers, veterans with unmatched experience. Reviving the company’s mission, he relocated operations to Germany, tapping into its strong industrial base, and eventually expanded to Hungary and moved there subsequently in 2009, where C.O.R.E. continues its evolution as a leader in freight rail and locomotive development across Europe.
The goal of C.O.R.E. (Corporation of Rail Engineering) is to lead the advancement of locomotive technology and rail infrastructure across Europe. Focused on delivering high-performance, customizable freight locomotives, C.O.R.E. aims to drive innovation in rail transport by combining cutting-edge engineering, sustainable practices, and unparalleled expertise. The company strives to meet the diverse needs of clients while contributing to the modernization and efficiency of rail networks globally.
