Lazaro Cordero is a resilient entrepreneur and cancer survivor. After being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at the age of 10 and undergoing more than 14 surgeries, including the amputation of his leg at the age of 15, Lazaro did not let his health challenges define him. After his Olympic swimming career came to an abrupt end due to an injury that required surgery, Lazaro ventured into the business world.
He is now the proud owner of Cordero Services Corp, a trucking company in Florida. Lazaro not only runs the business with his wife, but also gets behind the wheel himself, driving one of the company trucks and delivering across the USA. Through hard work and determination, Lazaro has turned his challenges into opportunities, proving that with the right mindset anything is possible.
Lazaro's story serves as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. When life throws obstacles our way, we have a choice - to let them defeat us or to use them as motivation to grow stronger. Lazaro chose the latter. Through his entrepreneurial endeavors, he has created opportunities for others and pays it forward by inspiring people with his story.
Lazaro hopes his experiences can teach others that:
You are stronger than you think. Even when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges, you have an inner strength just waiting to be tapped into.
Don't dwell on what you've lost but focus on what you can gain. Lazaro could have focused on his health issues and amputation but chose instead to focus his energy on his goals and dreams.
Your differences make you unique and give you power. Lazaro's differences make him who he is and allow him to relate to and inspire others facing adversity.
Lazaro's story shows that you don't have to let health issues, disabilities or other obstacles define your potential. You have the power to write your own narrative and achieve your dreams. All it takes is courage, perseverance and a refusal to give up.
