My name is Betty, and I am the organizer and do-er behind Coquitlam Christmas Night market.  I am a one woman team.  I do the marketing, the set up, the take down and answering all the emails and everything in between.  I am nurse by trade and I wanted to find something to do that is fun and less depressing.  Cleary, I went from one stressful job to another 😬.

 So when I first started vending at markets, I realized we were missing a niche night market that caters to shoppers that do not work Monday to Friday 9-5.  So I thought it would be good to start one. 

 My first market was in 2019, I think we had close to 3000 people come through in a 3 hour time frame.  It was utter chaos with last minute shoppers and vendors. (It was the last weekend before Christmas and everyone had to shop to knock off the shopping list.  Of course in 2020, COVID hit, and I stopped the market for 2 years. 

 I came back in 2022 and has been doing this market on an annual basis. I went from a 3 hour one day market to now a two weekend event. 

 I have many vendors and shoppers that come every year.  They love the atmosphere.  I mean, what else can you complain about (send your family to walk the lake and enjoy the lights) while you do a little bit of R & R with some shopping therapy😀.
