Privacy Policy for Copy Article Content Extension
Effective Date: 2025-09-21
This extension extracts the main article from the page you’re viewing and copies it to your clipboard on demand. It is designed for a single purpose and processes content locally in your browser.
We do not collect any personal information.
We do not use analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or tracking of any kind.
When you click the button, the extension reads the DOM of your current tab to extract the article (“reader view”).
For pages that are difficult to parse, the extension may try:
an AMP version of the current page, or
a text-only reader snapshot from https://r.jina.ai/*.
These requests are made without cookies or credentials. No data is sent to any server we control.
The extension stores nothing.
It does not transmit, sell, or share user data with any third party.
activeTab — Temporary access to the currently active tab after you click the button, solely to read the DOM for extraction.
scripting — Injects a small content script and the Readability library on demand (after a user gesture) to perform the extraction. No remote code or eval.
clipboardWrite — Copies the extracted content (HTML/Markdown/plain text) to your clipboard when you ask. The extension never reads the clipboard.
Host permissions: https://r.jina.ai/* (optional fallback) — Used only if live/AMP extraction fails. Fetches a text-only snapshot without cookies to improve readability. No other hosts are accessed.
This extension is not directed to children and collects no data.
All processing is performed locally in your browser. Network requests (when used for fallbacks) exclude cookies and credentials.
If this policy changes, we will update the “Effective Date” above.
