This Privacy Policy explains how Copy My Data ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile application Copy My Data (bundle identifier: com.herbertlederer.copyfile) for iPhone and iPad.

We designed this App with a privacy-first, on-device approach. We do not operate a user account system, we do not show advertisements, and we do not collect personal information for marketing, analytics, or profiling purposes.

1. Summary

- No advertisements

- No user account registration

- No sale of personal information

- No analytics or advertising SDK integration in the current App implementation

- No developer-operated cloud backend for core App functionality

- No remote live feeds or continuously updated online content provided by us

- Core processing occurs on your device

- In-App Purchases are processed by Apple

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not knowingly collect, store, or maintain on our servers the following categories of information because the App does not use a developer-hosted account or analytics platform:

- name, email address, or phone number through an in-app registration form;

- precise location data for tracking purposes;

- browsing history across third-party websites;

- contacts, photos, videos, or documents for our own remote storage or review;

- advertising identifiers for ad targeting;

- behavioral profiles for marketing purposes.

The App is not designed to require you to submit personal information to us in order to use its core features.

3. Information Processed Locally on Your Device

Depending on the features you choose to use, data may be processed locally on your device as follows:

A) Transfer Data

When you enable the local web server, your device generates a local network address and QR code so another device on the same Wi‑Fi network can upload files to your iPhone or iPad. Files received through this process are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a remote server that receives or stores those files on your behalf.

B) Copy My Data

When you import photos, videos, or documents, the App accesses only the items you select through iOS system pickers and stores them in the App's local sandbox on your device. We do not upload imported files to developer servers.

C) Backup Contacts

When you initiate a contact backup, the App reads your address book only for the purpose of creating a VCF or CSV export file on your device. We do not transmit your contacts to developer servers.

D) Local App Preferences

The App may store limited technical state locally using iOS UserDefaults, such as:

- whether onboarding/welcome has been completed;

- identifiers of purchased products needed to determine Pro access on the device.

This information remains on your device and is used only to support App functionality.

4. Apple Permissions

The App may request the following Apple system permissions only when needed for user-initiated actions:

- Local Network — to allow nearby devices to connect to the on-device transfer server;

- Contacts — to export contacts when you choose Backup VCF or Backup CSV;

- Photo Library — when you choose to import photos or videos;

- Files / Document Picker — when you choose to import documents.

You can manage or revoke permissions in iOS Settings. Some features will not function without the relevant permission.

5. In-App Purchases and Apple Services

If you purchase Pro access, payment and transaction validation are handled by Apple through StoreKit. Apple may process purchase-related information in accordance with Apple's own privacy policy. We do not receive your full payment card details.

We may store locally on your device the fact that a purchase has been made or restored so the App can unlock Pro features. Restore Purchases uses Apple's systems to verify prior entitlements associated with your Apple ID.

6. No Advertising or Third-Party Tracking SDKs

The current App implementation does not integrate:

- advertising networks;

- analytics SDKs;

- social login SDKs;

- cross-app tracking frameworks for marketing purposes.

Accordingly, the App is not designed to track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising.

7. No Developer Server Dependency

The App's primary features do not require you to log in to a developer-operated online service. File transfer, file import, and contact export are performed using on-device processing and standard iOS frameworks. Any internet connection used for purchases or restores involves Apple services, not a developer-maintained user database.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Files and exports created through the App remain on your device until you delete them within the App or remove the App from your device. Deleting the App removes App sandbox data subject to iOS system behavior and any data you separately saved outside the App.

Because we do not maintain a developer-hosted account system for core App use, we do not retain copies of your transferred files, imported media, or exported contacts on our servers.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to provide consent without parental approval, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a registration process. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, contact us and we will review the request.

10. International Users

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Data processed by the App is primarily stored locally on your device. If you use In-App Purchases, Apple may process related information under its own global policies.

11. Security

We rely on Apple's iOS platform security and sandboxing. However, no method of electronic storage or local network transfer is completely secure. You are responsible for using trusted networks and keeping your device secure.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised when changes are made. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy, where permitted by law.

13. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding personal information. Because the App is designed not to collect personal information on developer servers, many requests may be limited to information stored locally on your device or purchase records held by Apple.
