Evaluation of PEMF Therapy for Chronic Postoperative Pain Following Lumbar Surgery
A randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled trial involving 36 subjects with persistent low back and/or radiating leg pain after lumbar surgery. The study found that PEMF therapy with a 42-μs pulse width resulted in a 40.2% reduction in low back pain scores and a 45.0% reduction in leg pain scores, compared to 25.6% and 24.5% reductions in the sham group, respectively.

Efficacy of PEMF on Pain and Physical Function in Patients with Low Back Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
This meta-analysis of 14 randomized controlled trials involving 618 participants concluded that PEMF therapy significantly alleviated pain in patients with chronic low back pain (SMD = -0.6, p < 0.001), though it did not show significant improvement in physical function (SMD = -0.45, p = 0.09).

Efficacy of Pulsed Low-Frequency Magnetic Field Therapy on Patients with Chronic Low Back Pain
A randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial involving 42 patients found that PEMF therapy, when combined with therapeutic exercises, led to significant improvements in pain intensity and disability scores at week 3, with sustained benefits at weeks 6, 9, and 13.

Effectiveness of PEMF Therapy on Pain, Functional Status, and Quality of Life in Patients with Chronic Non-Specific Neck Pain
A prospective, randomized-controlled study with 63 patients found that while both PEMF therapy and conventional physical therapy led to significant improvements in pain and functionality, PEMF did not provide additional benefits when added to conventional therapy.

Evaluation of PEMF Therapy in the Management of Patients with Discogenic Lumbar Radiculopathy
A randomized clinical trial involving 40 patients demonstrated that PEMF therapy significantly improved pain intensity and disability scores, as well as somatosensory evoked potentials, indicating reduced nerve root compression in patients with lumbar radiculopathy.
The Effect of PEMF Therapy on Health-Related Quality of Life in Military Service Members with Chronic Low Back Pain
A pilot study involving 75 service members found that adjunctive treatment with PEMF improved health-related quality of life and reduced anxiety symptoms, although pain and disability outcomes did not show significant differences between groups.

A randomized-controlled trial with 32 patients found that while both PEMF therapy and conventional rehabilitation led to significant improvements in pain and hand function, PEMF did not provide additional benefits when added to conventional therapy.
