Welcome - Liz Harris

Head of Professional Standards - College of Paramedics

Hello all, and welcome to this 'Temporary Registered Student Paramedic' support site which has been created (amazingly quickly!) in collaboration with University educators, Ambulance Service colleagues and other passionate and enthusiastic people around the UK. We thank you sincerely for rising to this challenge and for supporting our newly registered colleagues in some of the most challenging times our NHS has ever faced.

The COVID-19 outbreak has caused unprecedented demand for, and pressure on, frontline services, your dedication and hard work, despite the difficulties you face is truly outstanding, and appreciated by everyone. #ClapForOurNHS

To those of you visiting this site to explore and learn, it may be that your induction or practice based education period will be much briefer than you would expect as a fully fledged NQP. Or that you are taking on a support role for your local ambulance service. With all these new and unchartered steps in mind we aim to build a virtual community of peer support for you to ensure you are as well prepared as possible to begin clinical practice today, in the context of Covid-19 and in the future as a permanent HCPC registrant.

The College of Paramedics' CPD Hub has over 150 video presentations available online for members, to expand your learning and development even further. If you are not already a member of the College of Paramedics, it may well be the perfect time to consider doing just that, student membership is only £2.50 per month. Click here to join today...

Stay well and look after yourself.

"The difficult we do immediately,

the impossible takes a little longer"

George Santayana (1863-1952)

I was honoured and privileged to be asked to support this webpage which has been created in a little over a week, it has grown from an embryonic idea of some skills videos for medicines management to the wide ranging support site that it has become.

I cannot thank the contributors enough for all their hard work in putting this fantastic resource together in such a short period of time.

It was, and is, a living breathing document that can be built upon as we go along.

Once the COVID-19 crisis abates it will evolve again to become an NQP support site (hence the URL). Please do email me here, or tweet with any ideas of how it could be improved.

This site is best viewed on a computer or tablet but it has also been optimised for browsing on a phone although some pictures may not appear as they would normally.

Whilst written with NQP's (TRP's) in mind we hope this site will be useful to all ambulance clinicians.
