We are interested in studying the brain, neural cultures, and other biologically relevant systems from the point of view of statistical physics, considering tools from the physics of complex systems, complex networks, and data analysis.
We investigate and characterize emergent properties of such systems focusing on the nonlinear interactions of their constitutive elements, instead of the specific characteristics of each of them.
Our research involves from numerical simulations to data analysis, from single neurons to whole brain fMRI data.
