Who is affected by COPD?

COPD can affect everyone from almost all ages though, the most common range is ages 65 and up. People who are genetically tied to COPD, smokers, and asthma patients are also affected. Although rare cases may occur, younger children are also affected by COPD. Due to an increase in death rates for women over the past couple of decades, it is concluded that women are more likely to be affected then men from the recent studies. Differences in the response of the disease from the body of both genders can also determine who is more vulnerable to COPD.
