* All dormitory applicants must send in a scanned copy of completed health form signed by the doctor to reserve dormitory and they must also present the original copy as they check-in at the HUFS dormitory.

Above items will be sent via registered air mail upon approval in most cases. Average shipping time is 11 days to most countries from Korea.

Exchange students or their parents/guardians are responsible for the cost of treatment should any medical emergencies arise.

Students should bring comprehensive travel and medical insurance before coming to Korea and verify that the insurance policy they carry covers hospitalization and medical care occurring during international travel and sojourns, as well as repatriation to their home country in case of medical emergency. If students wish, they can enroll in HUFS private insurance plan called Meritz Insurance which costs about 60 USD per semester.

Restricted Courses for Exchange Students

• • Law School

  • Language & Diplomacy

  • Language & Trade

  • Communicative Languages (a foreign language class which is a student's L1)

  • Business College Courses (from late January, 2020)

    • These are not technically restricted, however the College has imposed more requirements that will most likely make it difficult to impossible for Exchange Students to register for any of their courses - please see our Nominations Instructions' Important Changes section.

Regular Semester Course performance is graded on the following 100- point scale.

"Off Campus" dorms are only about 250-300 meters away from the center of campus. See our pre-arrival guide's housing section for more info.

The tuition fee will be fully waived for exchange students during the fall and spring semester periods.

As of Fall 2019, students who wish to take the Intensive Korean Program during winter and/or summer must pay the tuition fee, at 30% discounted rate (about 1,141,000 KRW ). From Fall 2020, the program fee has been raised to 1,620,000 KRW.

Overview

We currently require 134 credits for graduation from our undergraduate studies and our master’s programs usually consists of 24 credit hours of coursework plus a thesis completed in four semesters or two years. A regular semester (Spring: From March - June, Fall: September - December) lasts 16 weeks.
