Jessica Gorospe Marquez
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Coach Jessica has early roots in Northern California as both a dancer and educator, with 20+ years of experience. Upon moving to Roseville from the Bay Area, she experienced the local dance community as a student at Sierra Dance Academy, co-captain of the Oakmont High School Dance/Drill Team, and as a teacher at Tricks Gymnastics and Dance. Jessica graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in English/Creative Writing, and attained her teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach. As a professional performer, Jessica is an NBA Dancer Alumni for the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors. Other past experience include roles with various hip hop dance crews such as Fusion, SFSU Modern, Movement Project, DKANG Project with Groove Against the Machine, and Press P.L.A.Y. Jessica was also involved as a dancer for Kamikaze Records, featured as a fitness model with FitVid Productions for Denise Austin’s “Hit the Spot: Core Complete,” as a dancer with Gus Music Records and Effusion Pictures, as a guest dancer with Sac Dance Company, and as a guest performer with Earth Circus Productions. She continues to pursue her love of dance by taking classes both locally, online, and when traveling, at studios such as Step One Dance and Fitness, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, Millennium Dance Complex, Mission Dance Theatre, and Sac Dance Lab. As an educator, Jessica has taught students in both dance and academic realms, including overseas as an EFL teacher in South Korea, high school dance teacher at June Jordan School for Equity, Boys and Girls Club REACH for Literacy instructor, assistant director of MCCS Child Development Home, and as a K-5 elementary school teacher. Currently, she is a 3rd grade teacher at Diamond Creek Elementary and looking forward to her 6th season as a coach with the Cooley Cobras!
