Dishes for the Homeless
Poverty has affected the Philippines drastically. For some, like the homeless, they are lucky enough to eat at least once a day. According to researchgate.net, there are approximately 4.5 million homeless people, including children, in the Philippines. This has become a crisis in our country, and the website's authors want this to come to an end. The developers of this website see the problem of this underlying issue and have banded together to create a website with an advocacy goal to not only empower mothers and inform their viewers about the wonders of Filipino cuisine but also to be of service to their community through the various programs held through this website's advocacy.
Feeding program is the main project this advocacy has and it can be used as a platform for change in our communities. With the help of various NGOs and the local government, we can use the resources provided by these groups and leverage their platforms to raise awareness about food scarcity. In this way, we can inform individuals about this issue and encourage them to get connected and volunteer.

One might ask what is the relevance of doing this advocacy work in the first place and why should it be discussed. According to statistical data, various regions in the Philippines reveal an alarming rate of poverty, resulting in a lack of resources in these particular areas (MJ Fadrigalan, JA Gutierrez-2022). Just by looking at the numbers, we can already illustrate the high levels of food shortage in these populations, and here is when this advocacy comes into play.

It aims to raise awareness among the masses, which eventually will influence policies that address the root causes of poverty and food shortages in our communities. By giving the marginalized a voice, officials, and people of power are called to action and provide support to advocacies like this one. But most importantly, this advocacy is able to supply nutritious meals and services to the poor. In addition, through this advocacy, people are inspired to make informed choices about the quantity of food that they will be eating, promoting mindful eating that results in reduced food waste.
