Rebecca is a final year PhD student on the GSK/University of Strathclyde Collaborative PhD programme, where she is based in the Modalities Platform Technologies group at GSK Stevenage, UK, and is co-supervised by Dr Afjal Miah (GSK) and Professor Glenn Burley (Strathclyde). Her research focuses on developing new platform capabilities for direct-to-biology and their applications within targeted protein degradation, and Rebecca is visiting UCLA for a 3-month placement, supported by a RSC Researcher Collaborations Grant and University of Glasgow MacRobertson Travel Grant. Rebecca also holds an Industrial Fellowship from the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 and a Scholarship from the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) to support her studies. Outside the lab, Rebecca plays the piano and saxophone in local group Hitchin Light Orchestra, and enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors!
