Nathan transferred from Citrus College in 2023 to UCLA, where he completed his Biochemistry B.S. in 2025 while studying natural product biosynthesis in the Tang group. He decided to continue on at UCLA, pursuing a PhD in Chemistry, with a focus on chemical biology. Nathan is interested in metalloenzyme inhibition, as well as leveraging metal binding fragments for developing activity based probes. Outside of the lab, he enjoys hiking and playing the saxophone and is especially fond of jazz. His inspiration largely stems from Borodin, a Russian chemist and talented romantic era composer remembered both for his discovery of the aldol reaction (1869) and the opera Prince Igor (1887).
